And with everything else is going on; still somewhat indifferent

To me being involved in this "thing",  and even though vaguely recall a oh-and-by-the-way-if-you-need-for-anything; It was in like July. But that's not really important, because I have stopped listening to his  words (and still continue to look up from my screen and grunt some mono-syllabic acknowledgement to his monologue. I still only feel a residual sense of frustration, audacity and now...delight. because I just made this cool graphic in this app called 'Smoke' on the MAC or . Here is an actual live screen capture of this cool thing which is in tile mode 64x64.
my desktop. pretty cool, huh?

I don't know what stage I'm in (v2)

**now with download link, or play directly in the page**
My uncle Keith passed away yesterday morning. I encourage you to read about him here. I should post some photos, but I'm not quite ready to browse through flickr albums or facebook pages just yet. I did however assemble this track from various beats, samples and rhythms. It feels right to me,  and does somewhat encapsulate how I feel, at this time about all this. And I'm just gonna throw it up here, or to Box.net and then I gotta go take care of some things.

So I ended up working today...

Otis ReddingCover of Otis Redding
And it was one of those things where I wasn't scheduled and I woke up early- or I never actually fell asleep. So when I walked over to the office with Cece (that i attempted to tweet about earlier, yet didn't quite capture) and I wasn't listening to her go on about the night, the drama, the dilemma, etc.  I didn't know what or why I was there- but shortly after arrival I was given task and timeline. I enjoyed jumping on the trampoline for a few minutes. Then someone showed up, and they were pleased and revised timetables. Laura (she owns/runs the place) was happy to see me and I can honestly say that telling her about my thanksgiving and how I carved the turkey (2nd year in a row), and how our friends and family members played this boardgame. I don't know the game, and I was on a team (of which there were 2) and points were involved. The object of the game (which was to score points for your team) involved taking a word that the 'judge' selected and sing a song that included that word in the lyrics. Naturally some of the parents wouldn't know the current stuff, and the kids would make stuff up for some of the motown classics and oldies.
What made really it special was when someone would start singing acapella, and then everyone else would join in. Songs by Otis Redding, The Temptations and Sinatra were sung by all. I didn't know my dad was into Credence Clearwater Revival, and I was surprised to discover how many of the songs I remembered. I could still sing with a hint of a russian accent for 'sunrise/sunset'.  So now before I check-in with Cece, and lose myself in the computing-troubleshooting-optimizing-administrative/custodial duties that my job entails, and on a Sunday that still has something planned- this is the highlight of my day.

friday night nonchalance

The other day I was telling Isaac about how and why I decided to title my blog '510 Collection'. And while we were standing in line at McDonald's, I began to tell him. (oh, and you're probably wondering 'what were you doing at McDonald's'? and 'isn't Isaac vegan'? well, I was going to prove to Isaac that they would accept and make change for a $100 bill. And he ordered a medium Orange Juice btw) And now, while waiting for the system to finish the transcode I started an hour ago, I am going to share the motivation, inspiration and evolution behind this blog that carries this name.

How Sweet The Sound | Oakland,Ca

I had a great time at the concert Saturday night. Great Seats on the main floor and it was great to be there with family. **Fun Fact: the last concert the whole family saw together was the 'Jackson 5 Victory Tour' at Dodger Stadium in LA** I didn't bring a camera, because I was at a concert, so you'll have to wait a little while for me to _dl them from my sister. In the meantime I do have my program which was  autographed by Cece Winan.

This week's featured track and recommended download

WhereIsMyBootleg

An anthem for living life at a dizzying pace, but refusing to slow down. Obviously influenced by the legendary rock band The Pixies, this bootleg was one of the secret weapons of almost every show on the Cozza Frenzy tour…. and now it’s yours for free.

NBC's hit TV show 'Trauma' features bay area landmarks...

and just so happened to have been shot in my neighborhood near lake meritt in Oakland (even though the show is  supposed to be set in San Francisco). This exterior shot was filmed directly behind my apartment building a few weeks ago. I like this show and I think it's kinda cool.
